President Convocation Tomorrow (September 9)

The annual President’s Convocation is scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday, September 9) at 2:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center.  This will be my first opportunity as President to address the entire campus community on the state of the college and my plans for the future.  I hope that you will be able to attend and also stay for the reception that will follow the address.

The fall sports season kicks into full gear this weekend with a myriad of activities taking place at the Demske Sports Complex and Koessler Athletic Center (KAC). There is no admission charge for any of the contests listed below.

Friday, September 10 (Blue & Gold Friday)
   M. Soccer vs. University of Buffalo at 4 p.m.
   W. Soccer vs. Wright State at 7 p.m. (Synchro Swim Team receives their championship rings at halftime)
   Canisius Volleyball Tournament @ KAC
   Volleyball vs. Colgate at 3:30 p.m.
   Volleyball vs. Robert Morris at 6 p.m.

Saturday September 11
   Canisius Volleyball Tournament @ KAC
   Volleyball vs. Bucknell at 2 p.m.

Buffalo Zoo Tour This Saturday (September 11)

Join Michael Noonan, PhD, and Adrienne Salerno (president of the Canisius Zoological Society) for a guided tour of the Buffalo Zoo on Saturday September 11 at 10 a.m.  Learn about the amazing animals while enjoying a day with friends and colleagues.  The tour will include outdoor and indoor exhibits, and it will cumulate in the zoo’s new rainforest exhibit.  Once the scheduled tour and demonstration are completed, participants will have the option to remain at the zoo for the remainder of the day.

This event is open to all members of the Canisius College community including students, faculty, staff, family, and friends.  Costs per person are $7 for students, $9.50 for adults and $6 for children. (Buffalo Zoo members admitted free).  The price includes zoo admission but not transportation.  Participants must walk or drive to the zoo on their own.  Parking is available for a fee in the zoo’s public lot.

Rain or shine, the group will meet at 10 a.m. sharp outside the zoo main entrance gate (at Parkside and Russell Avenue).  Payments will be collected at that time.

TIAA CREF Representative On Campus

Bill Stark, individual consultant for TIAA CREF, will be on campus for individual counseling sessions on Thursday, September 23, Thursday, October 14 and Thursday, October 21.  He will meet with individuals to review and discuss current investments, answer questions, and review their options to help meet retirement goals.

Fall 2010 Online Course Development Workshop

The Online Course Development Workshop was created to guide instructors and staff through the online course creation process.  It is highly encouraged that instructors attend if they intend to teach online.
