Frank Scarpinato, environmental education specialist with the Erie County Environment and Planning Division, will speak today (April 16) at 2 p.m. in Horan-O’Donnell Room 107 on the hazards of radon gas in the home.

Scarpinato will explain what radon is, where it comes from, why it is dangerous, how to test for it, and where to get help mitigating high levels.  This presentation is designed to inform the average citizen of the potentially life threatening hazard presented by radon gas, and is a must for all home owners and anyone who ever plans on buying a home.  For more information, contact Timothy Gregg, assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry, at greggt@canisius.edu or Ext. 2259.
