Beginning this September, the full Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius will be offered to Canisius faculty and staff.

“The Spiritual Exercises In Everyday Life” (SEEL) offers you the opportunity to journey through the whole 30-day Retreat of Saint Ignatius, by spacing them out over about eight months.  This version of the Exercises is for busy people who still want to take the full Ignatian Exercises.  This experience is for those who already have some way of reflecting or praying.  These “Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life” are free and invite you to pray daily for about an hour, to reflect weekly or every other week with a spiritual companion, and to participate in some monthly meetings with others participating in this journey.

To do the Spiritual Exercises, you do not need to be Catholic or Christian, but you would need to want to make the Ignatian journey the way your God or Higher Power directs you.  The spiritual companions or spiritual directors you talk with are priests and laity, male and female, Catholic and other denominations.

We begin this process now because the application process is very valuable and Grace begins arriving during this process.  Many people have found the application form helpful.  Also we use application information in choosing your spiritual companion.  Many blessings to you.

If you feel energy or desire regarding this invitation, call Rev. Tom Colgan, S.J., at Ext. 2488 or Patricia Van Verth at Ext. 2435.  More information about the retreat is also found here.
