Campus Candids

Students, faculty and staff gave thanks for the companionship of their furry, feathery, four-legged (and otherwise) friends at Campus Ministry’s “Blessing of the Animals.”

Services were held in Christ the King Chapel in observance of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi – the patron saint of animals.

National PA Appreciation Week Approaching

Each year, the nation celebrates physician assistants, and their contributions to improved health access and outcomes. National PA Day was initially celebrated October 6, 1987, in honor of the 20th anniversary of the first graduating class of physician assistants. Eugene A. Stead, Jr., MD, who is credited with founding the profession, was born October 6. It has since grown into a week of celebration from October 6 -12 each year.

In honor of our Jesuit values and call to serve, we honor this week at Canisius by hosting our annual Health Equity Week. Stay tuned for the amazing work our students are doing to serve our local communities as outlined in the flyer.

Oh, and feel free to hug your PA this week!

AI & Coursework Faculty Lunch

The AI and Society Initiative and the College of Arts and Sciences are co-sponsoring a lunch for Canisius University faculty on Wednesday, October 18 at 12:00 noon in the Old Main Faculty/Staff Lounge.

This is an opportunity for faculty to take stock of where we are so far with generative artificial intelligence in our courses, assignments, pedagogy, and plans.  It is a great opportunity to learn from colleagues, or together devise lessons and assessment appropriate for the Generative AI era!
