Volunteer this Christmas Season

The Resource Council, located at 347 E. Ferry Street, is holding its annual toy drive and needs volunteers for the following days and times:

Thursday, December 15: 12:00 – 6:00p.m.

Friday, December 16: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Saturday, December 17: 9:00 a.m. -12: p.m. (possibly)

In addition to the volunteer opportunity with the Resource Council, Jewish Family Services is welcoming 12 Ukrainian families in the next few weeks and looking for volunteers to be paired with a family and to commit to bringing them hot meals, groceries, winter gear and to facilitate activities with children. They also need of volunteers to complete home set-ups and form Circles of Care around these families.

Web Resources for Graduate Students

Whether face-to-face or online, graduate students at Canisius make extensive use of internet tools and services.  Come learn about the core information technologies you will use at Canisius.  Begin the semester confident in your use of Canisius Gmail, D2L, the MyCanisius Portal, and other tools for your success!

Each of these sessions covers the same content.  The on-campus session features a light dinner for all attendees.  The online sessions are via Zoom web conferencing.  Choose the session that is most convenient for you.

Thank you to all who participated in this year’s Christmas cookie exchange! What a sweet success! There were (literally) dozens of sweets to be swapped by everyone, surly making their holiday baking a bit easier this year.

Winter Campus Updates

As we approach the end of the semester and the upcoming holiday, please note that winter hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. will be in effect from Monday, December 19 through Friday, January 13.

The college will be closed from Friday, December 23, 2022 through Monday, January 2, 2023. Following the holiday shutdown, administrative offices will resume on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.  Essential operating personnel will continue to follow their schedules.

Please be advised that the Loyola lot, Bagen lot, Tower lot, Small lot #15 at Jefferson & Main and Old Main lot parking rules will continue as is during the winter break, however, open parking will be available in any other lot during this period. Watch for additional information from Public Safety.
