The college’s announcement about President-elect Steve Stout continues to garner media attention.  The Buffalo News Editorial Board published an article lauding Canisius’ selection and commending President John Hurley for “true leadership” throughout his tenure.

DiGamma Honor Society Inducts Seven

The Canisius College DiGamma Honor Society inducted seven new members on Friday, February 25, 2022 at The Buffalo Club.  The prestigious honor society is composed of Canisius alumni, faculty, administrators and students who have distinguished themselves through exemplary service to the college over an extended period of time.  This year’s inductees are: 

  • Lynn A. Dobmeier Pullano ’85 president, All Good Consulting;
  • Elizabeth (Beth) A. Edbauer ’87, community volunteer in the health and social services fields; for numerous community organizations in the health and social services fields; 
  • Sara R. Morris, PhD, vice president for academic affairs at Canisius College; 
  • Sababu C. Norris, retired director of Multicultural Programs at Canisius College; 
  • Cindy L. Odom ’90, chief advancement officer at Hillside;
  • Gerald (Gerry) M. Pullano ’85, chief financial officer at Thruway Fasteners Inc.; and 
  • David Schmidt ‘90, retired partner at Ernst & Young

First-Year Students and Seniors: Watch for NSSE

First-year students and seniors will receive an invitation to the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) on Wednesday, March 2, in their Canisius Email.  Previous feedback has informed the First-Year Experience, and important advising and communications changes.

All participants will be entered into a drawing to win an Apple watch, a $50 Amazon gift card or a $10 Tim Hortons TimCard.

Conflict in Ukraine: A Roundtable Discussion

Curious about the events taking place in Ukraine?  The International Relations Program will host a round table to discuss the ongoing crisis. The event will take place this Thursday, March 3, at 2:30 pm  in the Andrew L. Bouwhuis – Instructional Room.
