Matthew Faulkner ’13 shared his perspective as a past traumatic brain injury (TBI) patient with PA program students earlier this week.  Faulkner speaks to students and clinicians about his perspective as a past patient of neurorehabilitation, and what he thinks is necessary for severe TBI patients to have better outcomes and return to independent life.

Faulkner, who currently works for NRG Energy, has also participated in TV and radio commercials for Mercy Flight.  Read the Canisius Magazine feature on Faulkner here.

Canisius a “Best Value” for Business

College Factual recently recognized Canisius College, and specifically the Richard J. Wehle School of Business, on its list of “Best Value Colleges for Business Administration and Management.”

Of the 876 colleges and universities reviewed by College Factual, Canisius College ranked No. 7 in the nation and No. 1 among colleges and universities in New York State. 

College Factual recognized Canisius’ business programs for offering a high quality education at a price lower than other schools of similar academic excellence. Rankings take into account the average yearly cost of the institution, average years it takes for students to graduate, total degree cost, affordability rank, location and financial aid.

USA Election Results

Last week, more than 500 students voted in the Executive Board elections for the Undergraduate Student Association. We are happy to announce the 2022-23 Executive Board for USA:

Go Move Challenge 2022

Participants who met the Canisius College challenge criteria of meeting at least 600 minutes of heart-pumping exercise for the month of February were entered into a raffle drawing for a gift card to the bookstore, and Laurie Hennessy, Administrative Operations Coordinator for the Athletics Department, was the lucky winner! Congratulations to Laurie for completing a total of 2,040 minutes of exercise, and a special shout out to the following participants for also reaching the 600-minute goal, and beyond:

  • Susan Margulis, Professor & Chair, ABEC
  • Yvonne Widenor, Teaching Faculty, Fine Arts

At Canisius, although we did not win, for those who participated, collectively, we moved a total of 11,582 minutes, and our average number of minutes per participant was 966 minutes for the month of February (about a 20% increase from last year)!

Please join us in congratulating the following Jesuit Institution Go Move Challenge Winners:

  • Santa Clara University for earning the most minutes for the month at 510,089 minutes
  • Saint Joseph’s University for earning the most average minutes at 1,467 minutes per participant
