To celebrate the graduating Class of 2018, the Bookstore is offering 20 percent off to all faculty, staff and students on Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24. This discount applies to one regularly priced apparel item or one regularly priced gift item. People and Carnivores: Is Coexistence Possible?
Lisa Upson to speak on campus
Lisa Upson, executive director of People and Carnivores, will speak on Tuesday, April 24 at 5:30 p.m. in the Science Hall Commons. Her lecture is free and open to the public.
Large carnivores represent wilderness and mystery to many while others deplore them. After a century of persecution, people are now learning how to live alongside large carnivores on a shared western landscape. Over the last 20 years, landowners and conservationists have developed and tested several conflict prevention tools and practices, yielding promise for a future in which we can coexist with wolves and grizzly bears. The only question is whether we will choose that future.
The event is hosted by the Canisius College Institute for the Study of Human-Animal Relations and the Canisius Ambassadors for Conservation.

“Beowulf” Coming to Canisius
The Institute for Classical and Medieval Studies is pleased to host “Beowulf” on Wednesday, April 25, at 8:00 p.m. in the Marie Maday Theatre in Lyons Hall. With the help of Canisius students, Chris Vinsonhaler brings this ancient epic tale of heroes and monsters to life. Her translation in Modern English has been awarded a fellowship through the National Endowment for the Arts. The 60-minute performance is free and open to the public.

If you’d like to learn more, Be the Light will be hosting Cocktails and Conversation at 100 Acres (at Hotel Henry) on Thursday, April 26, 2018, from 4 – 5 p.m.! You will hear from our co-directors about plans for this year’s Institute, as well as testimonials from past participants and leaders, describing the transformative experiences they had during the Institute.
