Kinesiology Students Visit Museum of Disability

Students completing their capstones in kinesiology visited the Museum of Disability History on Tuesday, February 14. Students took part in a tour of the facility, which included a comprehensive historical analysis of the disabled as a minority group from both a domestic and global context. The presentation closed with a discussion about the role that sport has played historically in the advancement of disability civil rights.

Celebrate Women’s Basketball Senior Day

Your Golden Griffin women’s basketball team will continue its quest for a first-round bye in the MAAC Tournament when Siena pays a visit to the Koessler Athletic Center (KAC) on Saturday, February 18. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and will mark the final home game for seniors Lauren D’Hont, Tamara Miskovic and Emily Weber. Senior ceremonies will take place immediately before the game.

A fifth place standing will earn the first-round bye. Canisius currently trails fifth-place Siena by two games.

Watch This Month’s Episode of “Kaleidoscope”

The Canisius College Video Institute production of the February episode of “Kaleidoscope” premiered earlier this month on WGRZ-TV 2. This 30-minute television program celebrates the religious diversity of our region and is produced in conjunction with the Network of Religious Communities. “Kaleidoscope” will rebroadcast on Friday, February 17 at 6:35 p.m. on Time Warner Cable 20, and Sunday, February 19 at 8:00 p.m. on Time Warner 6 in Olean.

In the first segment, James Lewis III, director of spiritual care at Erie County Medical Center, speaks with Rev. William Gillison, PhD, of Mount Olive Baptist Church and moderator of the Great Lakes Baptist Association. During the segment, Gillison recounts his life journey and the founding of Mount Olive Baptist Church.

In the second segment, Rev. Jonathan Lawrence, PhD, assistant professor of religious studies at Canisius College, speaks with Alex Mikulich, assistant director of mission and ministry at Loyola University, New Orleans.

Students in the Canisius College Video Institute produce “Kaleidoscope” under the guidance of Jamie O’Neil, associate professor of digital media arts and co-director of the Video Institute, and Paula DeAngelis-Stein ’86, MS ’02, a producer with Daybreak Productions, the broadcast arm of the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo.

1095-C Form is Available Electronically

Employees who wish to receive their 1095-C forms electronically may follow these steps:

Log on to myCanisius, under the “My Applications” tab, choose Self Service Banner (SSB). Once you’re in SSB, click on “Employee” followed by “Tax Forms.”  Check the box “1095 C Electronic Consent.”

You will be able to view and print your 1095-C form on or before March 2, 2017.

Please note that your 1095-C from is NOT required for you to file your taxes with the IRS. The form only needs to be kept with your tax records.
