This semester, Campus Ministry will offer Monday Communion Services for the college community. This new prayer opportunity also includes Prayer with the President during which John Hurley will host and lead the service once a month.
Led by a lay person, these Communion Services include a full Liturgy of the Word and Distribution of Communion. Attendees can receive the Eucharist, hear a reflection from one of many faculty or staff members that will preside this semester and praise God, all in a simple, half-hour service.
In addition to open prayer time and many special prayers services offered throughout the semester, Christ the King Chapel offers a place to pray as a community once every weekday and twice on Sundays. Sing along with student-led music on Sunday evenings or take half an hour out of your weekday for a daily Mass.
This semester’s weekly liturgical schedule:
Monday: 12:05 p.m. Communion Service (presided by a trained lay faculty, staff member or student)
Tuesday: 12:05 p.m. Mass (Presider – Rev. Fiore)
Wednesday: 12:05 p.m. Mass (Presider – Rev. Jamros)
Thursday: 12:05 p.m. Mass (Presider – Rev. Pribek)
Friday: 12:05 p.m. Mass (Presider – Rev. Jamros)
Sunday: 11:30 a.m. Mass (presided by a member of the Canisius Jesuit Community)
Sunday: 8:30 p.m. Mass (presided by a member of the Canisius Jesuit Community)
Christ the King Chapel is a convenient, prayerful place to encounter God right in the heart of the Canisius campus. All faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of the college are welcome in the Chapel from the early morning into the late evening any day the college is open. Come in to examine the beautiful stained glass windows or close your eyes for a moment of silent meditation.

The Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Awards Committee is now accepting nominations for the 2017 MLK awards. This honor recognizes Canisius community members, student and non-student, who demonstrate qualities promoting social justice, racial harmony, civil rights, advocacy for the poor, or change through non-violence.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, February 10, 2017.
Nominations are accepted from faculty, staff and current students of Canisius College. Please make a nomination here. MLK Awards will be presented at the Spring Honors Convocation.

Canisius College’s Celebration of Service ceremony is scheduled for Friday, April 28, at 3:00 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. Canisius will honor faculty and staff members retiring from the college.
