After a successful career in nuclear engineering and management, Mel Crotzer, MBA ’11, PhD, developed a genuine passion for teaching. Whether in the classroom, library or tutor center, Mel generously shares his knowledge of mathematics and science and his time with students.
Mel has made numerous contributions to the Mathematics and Statistics Department and to the college. He is an active member of a statistical research group led by Leonid Khinkis, PhD, professor of mathematics and statistics. Mel was a member of the local organizing committee for the successful UP-STAT statistics conference held on campus earlier this year, volunteering his time and energy. Additionally, he contributed to the work of the college’s Data Analytics Program Committee.
Did you know…Mel has a broad range of interests ranging from business and investing. He is a founding member of the South Towns Investment Club. He also loves tennis and serves as a board member for the Hamburg Racquet Club. But nothing beats camping in the Adirondacks with his family.
