Web Time Entry Holiday Schedule

The BA27 pay period, Sunday, December 13 – Saturday, December 26, will be paid on Thursday, December 31.

– Employees will have until Monday, December 21 to submit timesheets.

– Approvers will have until Tuesday, December 22 to approve timesheets.

PLEASE communicate this schedule to your student workers.

All time sheets must be approved before you leave for the Holiday break.

Please use the following guidelines for recording time during the holiday shutdown period.

Non-exempt employees should record shutdown days with the “holiday” pay code. Employees required, for business purposes, to work during the shutdown period should record the hours that are worked using the “regular” pay code. Employees who are required to work during shutdown will be given a floating holiday, which must be used prior to the end of the fiscal year on May 31, 2016.

Exempt employees who work during shutdown should NOT submit a timesheet. Employees who work during shutdown will be given a floating holiday, which must be used prior to the end of the fiscal year on May 31, 2016. Supervisors are asked to please keep track of days worked and floating holidays taken.

Holiday Break Mass Schedule

Daily Mass at 12:05 p.m. will end on Friday, December 18, 2015 and resume on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. There will be a Mass at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 prior to the President’s luncheon.

Sunday, December 20, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. will be the last Sunday Mass until January 17, 2016 when both 11:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. will resume.

Santa is a Griffs Fan

Your Canisius Golden Griffins men’s basketball team will host its final game of the 2015 calendar year this Saturday, December 19 at 2:00 p.m. when Boston University pays a visit to the Koessler Athletic Center.

All faculty and staff are admitted free with their college ID’s, and a few will receive complimentary Brew Bucks from Pearl Street Grill and Brewery. Additional tickets are only $5.00.

Santa Claus will make a special appearance at the game and children in sixth grade and younger will receive a Golden Griffin pillowcase.

Suicide Prevention Training

The Counseling Center is offering suicide prevention training for faculty and staff before the start of the spring semester. QPR, the “CPR for suicide prevention” will be offered on Tuesday, January 12 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the Grupp Fireside Lounge and on Wednesday, January 13 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. in Regis South.

QPR stands for: Question the person about suicide, Persuade the person to get help and Refer the person for help. QPR is designed to increase one’s ability to recognize suicidal thoughts and behaviors, and to refer the person who is at risk to a professional resource. Those who have participated in this workshop previously are encouraged to take it again to refresh their skills.
