The next Physics Cafe will take place Monday (November 7) at 3 p.m. in Horan-O’Donnell Room 103, and will center on a discussion of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physics. The prize was given to Saul Perlmutter, Brian P. Schmidt, and Adam G. Riess who measured the accelerated expansion of the universe. The work was done by studying type 1a supernovae. Robert Selkowitz, PhD, assistant professor of physics, will lead the discussion about the expansion of the universe, supernovae, and dark energy. All are welcome to attend.
