Campus Responds To Haiti Earthquake

Campus Ministry is soliciting funds for the people of Haiti. These donations will be directed to the Jesuit Refugee Service Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund to provide lifesaving aid, including food and other urgently needed items, to the Haitian people. The donation campaign will end on Wednesday, February 3.

In the next week, students will be gathering monetary donations at tables in the student center and through various clubs on campus. This coming Sunday’s collections at the campus Masses will support this effort. Other monetary donations can also be dropped off at Campus Ministry (Old Main 207) or sent to that office.

The Mass on January 27 at 9 p.m. will be offered for the people of Haiti.

Use Caution When Crossing Main Street

With school back in session, vehicle and pedestrian traffic on Main Street, and on other streets surrounding our campus, has increased. Main Street has three lanes of traffic in each direction and there have been some vehicle/pedestrian mishaps in the past several years.

Please, when crossing streets:

  1. Cross only at corners or in crosswalks.
  2. Assume vehicles don’t see you or have no intention of yielding to your right of way.
  3. At signals, wait for the pedestrian crossing cycle.
  4. Refrain from cell phone use, applying full attention to the task of crossing.
