The Amherst Federal Credit Union (FCU) offers consolidation loans and Visa balance transfers at special rates during January and February 2010.
Amherst FCU can help with holiday bills through low interest consolidation loans. The credit union is taking one (1) percent off all of personal loan rates thru January 31 to make rates as low as seven (7) percent for up to 60 months. Certain terms and conditions apply. Visa platinum card offers a balance transfer special at 6.95 percent fixed rate until the balance of the transfer amount is paid in full. This offer is valid through February 28 and certain terms and conditions apply. Transfers from Amherst FCU Visa classic card are not eligible. Contact the Credit Union for more details. If you do not already have a Visa Platinum card through the credit union, apply for one today.

Head Women’s Basketball Coach

The annual Kid’s Day Contest at Canisius is coming this Monday, January 11, when the Golden Griffin women’s basketball team hosts Manhattan at 11 am in the Koessler Athletic Center. Over 1,800 kids from 15 area elementary schools are scheduled to attend this zany day of hoops, music and “lots” of noise. Admission for all kids is free. Adults are also welcome (great way to enjoy your lunch break that afternoon).

The IRS has issued the 2010 standard mileage rate at .50 cents per mile. This is down from .55 cents in 2009.
