For the first time in program history, the Canisius women’s soccer team will host a home game in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women’s Soccer Championship as the No. 3 seed Golden Griffins entertain No. 6 seed Rider Sunday in a first-round contest at the Demske Sports Complex. Kickoff is slated for noon.

Due to conference policy, tickets will be available for purchase at the door. Adult tickets will be $10. Students, children and seniors will be $5. The game will also be broadcast on ESPN+.

The game serves as a rematch of last year’s first-round matchup that saw Canisius advance past Riders on penalty kicks, 4-2, after the team’s played to a 1-1 draw. The two teams also faced off earlier in the season in which the Broncs took the contest 1-0.

The winner of Sunday’s first-round contest will take on No. 2 Fairfield in the semifinals. That contest will be played on Nov. 2 at Lessing Field in Fairfield, Conn., with a start time of 7 p.m.
