Canisius received a $441,000 bequest from the estate of alumnus Robert W. Hickey Jr. ’65. This generous donation will provide crucial funding to enhance the student experience.

Grateful for his Canisius education, Hickey was a loyal donor for more than 40 years. “It’s heartwarming to know that his time at alma mater was so important to him that he made Canisius a philanthropic priority throughout his lifetime,” said Dianna Civello, interim vice president for advancement. “Now, his legacy gift will continue to support students for many years to come.”

A Buffalo resident, Hickey was a retired attendance officer for the Buffalo Public Schools. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Canisius in 1965.
