Please join us for the final Borders & Migrations event featuring the film “FLEE” and a talk by the art director, Jess Nicholls.

There will be a free screening of the film in OM 314 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 14 (space is limited).  The film is also available via streaming through the library website for registered Canisius students, faculty and staff, or on paid streaming services.

On Tuesday, November 15 at 12:00 p.m., in the Library Learning Center, we will host Jess Nicholls, the art director for the film who will join us virtually from Copenhagen.  The event will be hybrid with online viewing option at c.anisi.us/FLEE.

The film tells the traumatic story of an Afghan family fleeing through Russia to Scandinavia and how their plight is exacerbated by their gender and sexual identities.  The film uses documentary, drama, interviews, and animation to tell their harrowing story.
