Many thanks to MMB Realty group and their sponsors for distributing more than 500 turkeys and produce bags this weekend at the Spillman Lot. Student and staff volunteers helped out the neighborhood volunteers and President Steve Stout pitched in, too. Thanks to the Department of Public Safety for overseeing the traffic flow and helping to make things run smoothly.

Nominate a co-worker for a job well done for the month of November by completing the Employee of Distinction nomination formhere. Please have all submissions completed no later than the end of the day on Monday, November 21.
The Employee of Distinction program provides an excellent opportunity to show appreciation and support for co-workers and to reward them for all they do. The application will request an explanation as to why a candidate is worthy of the award. A list of factors to consider when submitting a nomination include the nominee’s history of accomplishments, level of determination, motivation and interpersonal skills.
The information provided in the application will be used to make a fair and objective selection. Upon supervisor approval, the Employee Engagement Team reviews all nominations and votes each month.
Once a decision is made for November, the Employee of Distinction will be featured in The Dome. Contact the Human Resources Department at Ext. 2240 or Bethany Voorhees in the President’s Office at Ext. 2100 with any questions.
Mary Wilson, from the Ralph Wilson Scholarship Fund, visited campus this week to award scholarships to five student-athletes from the Canisius College swimming team. The Ralph Wilson Scholarship Fund was started by the former Buffalo Bills owner in 1995. He funded the annual scholarships, which were to be awarded to students from Western New York who are participating in or interested in athletics. For a number of years now the Athletic Department has designated these grants for members of the varsity swimming program. Ralph Wilson endowed this scholarship program with a charitable bequest in his will.
His wife, Mary has come to campus annually to visit with the scholarship recipients, continuing a tradition her husband initiated when he started the program.
