The Canisius community ‘decked the halls’ with its favorite festive fashions on Friday. Donned in red and green – and a whole lot of tinsel – staff and administrators put their holiday spirit on display for a chance to win a department pizza party.
Their Christmas cheer was undeniable, making the decision to select just one department as the most holly-jolly a real challenge.
So, we’re picking two. Yes, two offices will receive pizza parties! They are: the Undergraduate Admissions team (pictured above) and the Controller’s Office (pictured below). Though the departments differ greatly in size, they both demonstrated that Christmas is not just a season … but a state of mind.
Julie Anna Golebiewski, PhD, associate professor of economics and finance, spoke with The Buffalo News on Thursday, December 16, about the current state of the economy. She wants to say the area has turned a corner but is hesitant to do so, due to the new Omicron variant.
With the college shutdown upon us, The Dome will go on a brief hiatus for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
This Wednesday, December 22 will be the last issue of The Dome published in 2021 (so plan now if you want something to appear before year’s end). The Dome will return to its regular publication schedule on Wednesday, January 19.
As always, please be sure to have submissions in by 2:00 p.m. the day prior.
As the holiday season approaches, the College Communications team invites you to share your Christmas traditions with the Canisius community. Simply Email us a sentence or two about a ‘few of your favorite things.’ We’ll share your traditions in our December 22 edition of The Dome and spread that holiday spirit on the college’s social media channels, as well.
To be featured, Email your Christmas tradition along with a photo of yourself to Johnson Ly, college communications graduate assistant, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
