The St. Thomas More Guild of Western New York recognized Canisius President John J. Hurley on Tuesday, May 7 during its annual luncheon at the Buffalo Convention Center. President Hurley received the St. Thomas More Award for his outstanding contributions as a Catholic lawyer.

The St. Thomas More Guild is an association of Catholic lawyers officially recognized by the Diocese of Buffalo. The organization supports lawyers in applying their faith to the challenges of professional and personal life.

In addition to his leadership of Canisius College, President Hurley is a founding member of the Movement to Restore Trust.

President Hurley congratulates Nick Spinosa ’20 upon receiving a scholarship from the St. Thomas More Guild of Western New York, during the organization’s annual luncheon on Tuesday.

The St. Thomas More Guild also recognized Nicholas J. Spinosa ’20, a math and economics dual major. Spinosa received a scholarship from the Guild for an essay he authored about faith and the law.
