The Canisius College Arabic Drumming Ensemble is open to all students and the general public. The ensemble meets every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in Lyons Hall room 404. Directed by Bob Accurso, percussion instructor, this group is open to drummers and drumming enthusiasts of all levels. The ensemble will explore and perform traditional rhythms from the Middle East and Northern Africa. Participants will learn essential rhythms and techniques on a variety of the most commonly used drums. If you don’t own a drum but would like to play, there will be drums available for use. If you’ve never played anything like this before, here’s your chance to learn in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Let’s play!
