Pokémon Go, the augmented reality mobile game is taking over campus. Montante Cultural Center is a “gym” where virtual teams come to battle for control over the building.

The Wehle Technology building, the statue outside of Lyons Hall, the Beta Gamma Sigma Scholarship Key, the Our Lady of Canisius statue and Peter Canisius himself, are all “PokéStops” where players can walk by to grab items to help them on their quests.

All Invited to Deans Welcome Reception

All members of the Canisius community are invited to attend a welcome reception for our two new academic deans today at 3:00 p.m. in the Palisano Pavilion.

Dr. Daniel Borgia, the incoming dean for the Wehle School of Business and Dr. Elizabeth Gill, the incoming dean for the College of Arts and Sciences, both started their posts on Monday.

We hope you are able to join us and introduce yourself to our new colleagues.

Performance Appraisal Meetings

As we move into the next step of the performance appraisal process, your manager should be scheduling your individual meetings to conduct the formal performance appraisal. If this has not been scheduled, please reach out to your manager at this time. The deadline for all managers to conduct the appraisal meetings is July 15.

Take this opportunity to have this robust conversation with your manager to produce positive outcomes that benefit both you and the college. Please feel free to contact the Human Resources Department at 888-2240 if you have any questions.

Camp College is Headed to Canisius

Beginning Friday, July 15 – Sunday, July 17, Canisius will host Camp College, a three-day, pre-college experience for high school students from across New York State. Students will stay in residence halls on campus, attend classes taught by professors, participate in workshops on admissions and financial aid processes, learn writing skills and techniques, and gain leadership and teamwork experience.

Each of the students attending are nominated by their respective schools to attend this program.

Employee Parking 2016-17

It’s time to register for your employee parking tag for 2016-2017. Your current tag expires on

August 15, 2016. Simply go to myCanisius; login with username & password; click on Campus Services (left side), click Purchase Parking – follow the prompts – make sure to “submit” OR simply click on the link below.

To register immediately click here: https://apps.canisius.edu/staffparking

  • Your Canisius username and password
  • If you are not paying via payroll deduction, your credit card or checking/savings account information for payment
  • Vehicle description (year, make, model, color)
  • Vehicle license plate number

You can pay via payroll deduction, credit, or web check. Your tag will be sent to you, once you’ve registered and paid, via interoffice mail.

If you pay with cash, you must still register online but will need to pay at the Student Records and Financial Services Office in OM-100 at which time you will receive your tag.
