godzakYour Canisius baseball team, locked in a dogfight with Monmouth and Fairfield for first place in the conference, hosts its final three home games of the season this weekend. The Griffs will meet Quinnipiac (7-11 in the MAAC) on Saturday, May 14 at noon in a scheduled doubleheader. The three game series wraps up with a single game on Sunday May 15, also at 12:00 p.m.

Canisius currently resides in third place with a 12-6 MAAC mark. Fairfield is at 13-5, while Monmouth holds a 15-6 conference record. Canisius is also one game up on fourth place Siena. The top six teams make the league tournament with the first and second place teams receiving the all-important first round byes.

Senior ceremonies will take place prior to Sunday’s game. The Griffs seniors are Aaron Casper (P), Anthony Massicci (SS), Mike Elwood (P), Alex Godzak (P) and all-time saves leader Iannick Remillard (P).
