Canisius College Chorale - PhotoThe Canisius College Chorale, under the direction of Frank Scinta, will present a program in collaboration with the Vocalis Chamber Choir, directed by James Burritt, on Sunday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center.

The program features works by Vivaldi, Victoria, Mendelssohn, Chatman and others. Combined performances of works by Lauridsen and Dawson will highlight the program.

Admission is free.

Founded in 2002, the Vocalis Chamber Choir stands as one of Western New York’s premier professional choral ensembles. Compromising 22 voices, the choir performs throughout the Niagara Frontier and received critical acclaim in Toronto, Pittsburgh, Rochester, Albany, Cleveland and New York City. Foreign appearances include its 2014-2015 England Tour, which featured performances in Southwark Cathedral, Grosvenor Chapel, Ely Cathedral and the Cambridge Summer Music Festival.

Now in its 19th season, the Canisius College Chorale remains one of Western New York’s most active collegiate music ensembles. Composed of 100 undergraduate and graduate members, the Chorale regularly presents concert programs to school, church and community audiences throughout Western New York and Southern Ontario. In recent years, the Chorale performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Ars Nova Chamber Musicians, Amherst Symphony Orchestra, Camerata di Sant’Antonio, Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus and the Dave Brubeck Quartet.
