Children of faculty and staff have the opportunity of taking part in two summer-time learning adventures.

  • Children (grades 5-8) can join hundreds of middle-school-aged children from all over Western New York this summer at the popular Summer Science Camp. Students receive five fun-filled days of hands-on science activities and games, take home lots of cool stuff each day and enjoy a daily hot buffet lunch. They learn exciting new concepts every day and have the chance to make new friends. In addition, participants have the opportunity to interact with science and education professors and students on a college campus. Camp will be held from Monday, August 1 – Friday, August 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fee is $100 which includes lunch. For more information, call Ext. 2355 or visit canisius.edu/sciencecamp.
  • The Western New York Writing Project Workshops for Young Writers are creative and enjoyable venues for kids to express themselves. This year’s workshops will be held Monday, July 11 – Friday, July 22 from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Kids from grades 3 – 12 learn creative writing skills in small workshops taught by certified teachers. The cost is $225 per student ($250 after July 1) and includes a t-shirt, backpack, composition book, and any additional supplies. Limited number of scholarships are available.
