The Canisius College Chorale, under the direction of Frank Scinta, will continue its 2009 “Sacred Spaces” concert series with a program on Monday, November 16 at 7:30 p.m. in historic Corpus Christi Church, 199 Clark Street, next to Buffalo’s Broadway Market. Corpus Christi Church, founded in 1909, is celebrating its centenary with a year-long series of concerts, lectures, exhibits and other cultural events.

Monday’s concert will feature works by Mendelssohn, Lauridson, Lotti, Hogan, Dawson and others. A free-will offering will be accepted.

Sacred Spaces stems from an idea the choir proposed six years ago to feature its music in some of Western New York’s most beautiful and acoustically resonant environments – namely, the sanctuaries of our area’s churches. As a result, the choir has visited nearly thirty houses of worship with its repertoire of sacred and secular music spanning five centuries.
