The Canisius Borders and Migration Initiative (BMI) continues to collaborate with community partners to raise awareness about the challenges newcomers encounter as they adjust to their new environment.

Dr. Secil Ertorer, who serves as a faculty member of BMI and the Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Environmental Studies, was a panelist at a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion workshop organized by the City of Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Alongside presenting her insightful research on the obstacles immigrants encounter within the labor market, Ertorer also disseminated a guide on effective diversity management practices in professional settings to the participants.
