Avanti Chorus and Cantio Sacra will present “Tenebrae: A Service of Darkness” on Wednesday, March 20 at 7:00 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel.
Tenebrae is a prayerful service offered during Lent and Holy Week, and focuses on the Passion of Christ. It combines Scripture with vocal settings. During the service, a series of candles are extinguished at the end of each selection, evoking the “darkness” after Christ’s death.
The event is free and open to the public and participants do not need to be Christian to enjoy this Lenten celebration.
