Lauren Orlowski joined the Canisius community July 17 as the new director of alumni engagement and constituent relations. Responsible for involving alumni in the life of the university, Orlowski will work to support and execute meaningful and memorable engagement opportunities for alumni, expand current career development initiatives and develop new mission-centric programs that align with Canisius’ new strategic plan.
Orlowski’s professional background prepared her well for this role. She comes to Canisius from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, where she facilitated and innovated the organization’s national volunteer committees, its annual volunteer leadership conference and young professional initiatives. Orlowski also brings with her experience in event planning and fundraising. She replaces Cecelia Gotham ’13, MS ’15, who now serves as chief of staff to President Steve Stoute.
On Tuesday, August 1, the day after the July 31 feast day of St. Ignatius, we become Canisius University.
Canisius will celebrate both our founder and our future on August 1 with Mass followed by ice cream treats.
Mass will be celebrated with the Jesuit Community at 12:00 p.m. in Christ the King chapel. The celebrant will be our new chaplain, Rev. Fred Betti, SJ.
An ice cream truck will be providing an assortment of packaged treats at Frisch Circle (by the chapel) from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
We hope you’ll join us.
