#ThatsNotLove

Canisius’ Sexual Violence Prevention Team and USA co-host film viewing

The campus community is invited to attend the viewing of “Escalation” tonight, Wednesday, February 7 from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. in the Regis Room of the Richard E. Winter ’42 Student Center.

The 40-minute film chronicles a college relationship from its sweet beginnings through its escalation to abuse.  Following the film, members of the Counseling Center will help facilitate a brief discussion on relationship abuse among college students.

Sponsored by the college’s Sexual Violence Prevention Team and the Undergraduate Student Association, the event coincides with the national #ThatsNotLove campaign, an initiative aimed at ending relationship violence by raising awareness of what abuse looks like.

Men’s Basketball Hosts Packed Schedule at KAC

Three games over five days.  Plus, Saturday is Hall of Fame Day

Free tickets for Canisius employees, Hall of Fame Day and free Oreos and ice cream highlight a packed schedule of college basketball this weekend at the Koessler Athletic Center.

The Griffs open the busy slate on Thursday night, February 8 when the energetic Jimmy Patsos brings his Siena Saints into town for a 7:00 p.m. tip. Siena is one of two conference teams to defeat Canisius this season.

Thursday is also Faculty-Staff Night.  All Canisius employees receive free tickets to the game for themselves and immediate family members. Just stop by the Human Resources Office to pick up your complimentary tickets. As an added bonus, it’s Oreo night!  That means a free mini pack of Oreos goes out to the first 600 fans (sorry, milk not included)!

Saturday is Hall of Fame Day with former Griffs Mary Boller ’07, volleyball; Scott Maybee ’94, diving; Ryan Puntiri ’01, soccer, hockey and football; and Kevin Ross ’07, lacrosse all being enshrined along with former Director of Public Safety Gary Everett.  Everett is this year’s recipient of the Father Dugan Award. Game time is 2:00 p.m. on Saturday versus Quinnipiac.  The Hall of Fame ceremonies take place during halftime of the game.

Monday, Canisius welcomes Fairfield to the KAC for a 7:00 p.m. tip. It’s Athletes for Athletes Night.  All fans receive a free cup of Anderson’s ice cream after the game.
