The beginning of a new year is always an exciting time as our upperclassmen return to campus and freshmen and new transfer and graduate students join the Canisius community. We will welcome a freshman class of approximately 640 students with 75 percent living on campus. New student move-in day is tomorrow (August 21) and their orientation will continue throughout the weekend.
In addition, I want you to be aware that you may also see some guests moving onto the Canisius campus this week. Canisius has entered into a lease agreement with Buffalo State College that will benefit both institutions. We had surplus residential space available and Buffalo State was in need of additional space while they renovate one of their residence halls. Buffalo State students will be housed separately in the Main-Humboldt and Main-Delavan Apartments and Campion Hall. Buffalo State will provide shuttle service for these students to and from their campus.
