US Attorney for the Western District of NYS, William Hochul was the keynote speaker at a police conference hosted by Canisius College Public Safety on Thursday, August 14. Preventing Violence Against Women on Campus was the topic and public safety officials from local and NYS colleges, FBI, NY State Police and Buffalo Police attended. An overview of the Clery Law, including changes for the 2014-2015 reporting year, were reviewed. An expert panel included BPD Chief of Detectives Dennis J. Richards, BPD Sex Offense Squad Lt. David Mann, Crisis Services Training Specialist Brandi Sutherland and NYS Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations Captain Steve Nigrelli. The panel presented on their various responsibilities and the assistance they provide to college public safety departments. The conference was held in the Atrium of Science Hall.
