Head Canisius lacrosse coach Randy Mearns has added some hardware to his two NCAA appearances. The successful Golden Griffin mentor coached Team Canada to a gold medal at this summer’s FIL World Lacrosse Championships.

Canada defeated Team USA in the championship game by a score of 8-5. The games were held in July in Denver, Colorado.

Five former Griffs played for Coach Mearns on Team Canada. The lineup included Jason Levesque ’04, who served as an assistant coach on Mearns’ Team Canada staff, Dan Coates ’11, Angus Dineley ’07, Adam Jones ’11 and Matt Vinc ’05.
