Presents the following events for April. All are free and open to the public except where noted

  • Ani Hoover’s “Stick Stack” studio art show opening reception on Friday, April 19 from 5 – 7 p.m. in the Bouwhuis Library, Peter A. and Mary Lou Vogt Gallery.
  • The Canisius College Chorale, under the direction of Frank Scinta, on Friday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. The performance will include works by Vivaldi, Graham, Praetorius, Hairston, Hogan, Dawson and others.
  • The Canisius College Chamber Orchestra on Sunday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. Ansgar Aylward, conducting. Solos by Laura Shepherd, cello, Max Baldauf, Violin, Jesse Fodero, piano, Alexander Aylward, piano. Works by Haydn, Beethoven, Gluck and Tartini.
  • “Meet the Faculty” lecture series features Yvonne K. Widenor, adjunct professor on Monday, April 22 at 12 p.m. in Regis Room South in the Richard E. Winter ’42 Student Center.  Her lecture titled, “An Art Historian’s Guide to Contemporary Fiction” will provide an overview of recent fiction written about artists, archaeologists, particular artworks, and art historians.
  • Informally Formal, featuring “Soaring Cellos from the Buffalo Philharmonic” with Amelie Fradette, cello and friends on Tuesday April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. Tickets are $15 general admission; $7 students and are available at the door. Light refreshments will be served.
  • The Canisius College Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble on Saturday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. Concert band, Paul Biddle, director and Jazz Ensemble, Dave Schiavone, director.
