Global Fest 2013

Global Fest will be held on April 17 from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. in the second floor of the Student Center. This event will promote the many cultures present on campus through performances, food, and arts and crafts. All students, faculty and staff are invited to join us!

Performances will include an authentic Chinese lion dance, West African drumming, Irish step dancing and Indian Bollywood and classical dancing.

Enjoy food from many different cultures including Mexican, Ethiopian, Italian, Thai, Greek, Chinese, Pakistani, French and Japanese.

Many arts and crafts will be available such as Henna, Origami, Chinese Calligraphy and Carnival Mask Making.

Buffalo for Africa presentation

Buffalo for Africa will present its organization’s mission and work this Thursday, April 11 in OM 403 at 7pm.

Buffalo For Africa is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that was created in order to raise awareness about the genocides and human rights atrocities happening in Africa. Their mission is to raise awareness & funds, to educate local citizens and to promote compassion.Buffalo For Africa was born in 2006 by educators and students who felt the need to spread the word and promote action to help those in Africa.

Beta Gamma Sigma inducts 45 business students

The Canisius College Wehle School of Business Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma congratulates 46 new inductees. They join an expanding worldwide network of more than 625,000 outstanding business professionals who have earned recognition through lifetime membership in Beta Gamma Sigma. Students ranking in the top 10 percent of the baccalaureate and top 20 percent of graduate programs at schools accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business are eligible for this invitation.

There was a total of 46 inductees – 45 students and one chapter honoree, Mr. Edward M. Murphy, ’74, Chief Investment Officer, Merchants Insurance Group.

Tune in to Crossroads

Canisius Professors Rev. Martin X. Moleski, S.J. and Fernanda Astiz, PhD, shared their thoughts on newly-elected Pope Francis, as a Jesuit and an Argentinian, on the latest broadcast of “Crossroads.”

Hosted by Rev. Patrick J. Lynch, S.J., chair of religious studies & theology, “Crossroads” airs at 6:00 a.m. Sundays on WJYE (96.1 FM) and at 6:30 a.m. on WBUF (92.9 FM). The broadcasts are also available on the college’s iTunes site.
