Griffs Soccer Home on Friday

Brianna Smith - Junior

Ready or not, here it comes – the Canisius College fall sports season is upon us as the Golden Griffin women’s soccer team kicks off the 2012 campaign versus Northern Kentucky on Friday, August 17 at noon. There is no admission charge.

Canisius is coming off an 8-7-4 campaign and returns offensive threats Brianna Smith and Maria Nelms. The Griffs are picked to finish 6th in the MAAC this fall.

Northern Kentucky makes its first-ever trip to Canisius. NKU, a new member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, finished 16-2-2 in 2012 and advanced to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional championship last season.

The Norse, who are making the transition to NCAA Division I status, welcomes back several all-conference and all-region performers from last season’s squad.
