Campus Update on Re-Brand & New Website

Over the past few months, Canisius has been developing an integrated marketing and branding plan in order to more effectively communicate the strengths and distinctiveness of the college and attract students.

A number of meetings and presentations are being scheduled to share more details about the process and plan and to answer questions. These include open presentations for anyone on campus and are scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 28, and Wednesday, Aug. 29, from 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. in the Regis Room.

By early fall, you will begin to see visible examples of this work on campus and in our communications. This will include new brochures for undergraduate admission, new campus signage and banners, new advertising and the launch of a new website.

The new website uses a new Content Management System (CMS) that will make editing and creating pages significantly easier. Here are items to consider as we move toward the re-launch of the website:

  • Page URLs will change – If you send out regular mass email communications, or if you use a specific URL on printed material, please make sure that all URLs are updated accordingly once the new web site launches.
  • Making Changes to the Current Site – All major page changes should be held until the new site launches. Incorrect or expired information will be addressed on the current site.
  • CMS Training – Since the CMS is new to the college, training sessions will be held for the people who make edits to their department’s web pages. More details on these training sessions will come in the following weeks.
  • Pages that have moved – After a review of the existing pages on canisius.edu, some page content will move to MyCanisius. If your content falls into this category, the web services department will be in contact with you.

If you have any questions regarding the new website, please email Keri Del Vecchio at delvecck@canisius.edu.
