Items to be Recycled

Canisius College recycles non-alkaline batteries and almost anything with an electrical cord. Some of these items include, but are not limited to, TVs, old computers, monitors, scanners and old typewriters.

How is recycling accomplished?

BATTERIES:
Drop the batteries off at HO-209 daily, between 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Large sizes or quantities can be picked up by facilities management. Please submit a work order for this type of request.

ELECTRONICS:
For specific information call the ITS Help Desk at Ext. 8340 or call Mark Hammersmith directly at Ext. 8347.

Thriller “Frozen” to Take the Stage at Marie Maday Theatre


Red Thread Theatre, the production company of Theatre Artist-in-Residence Eileen Dugan, will present the award-winning play “Frozen” in the Marie Maday Theatre from May 18-June 3. Performances will be held on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m.

Written by Bryony Lavery, “Frozen” tells the story of the disappearance of a 10 year-old girl (Rhona). The play follows Rhona’s mother (played by Dugan), the murderer who took Rhona and the psychiatrist who studies whether serial killers can help themselves. Over the course of years, the audience learns what happened to young Rhona, what happens to the man who took her, and the path to forgiveness and life taken by the mother.

Summer 2012 Online Course Development Workshop

There is an upcoming Summer Online Course Development workshop session recommended for those looking to teach online in the fall. These workshops were created to guide instructors and staff through the online course creation process. It is highly encouraged for those who attend if they plan to teach online. Open Enrollment for Health Insurance

Open enrollment is still going on for health insurance. Information regarding changes to co-pays and contribution costs may be viewed at www.canisius.edu/hr/health.asp. All changes take effect on July 1, 2012.

Reminder – this is the last year the PPO plan will be open for new enrollees.

If you are NOT making a change, you do not need to complete any paperwork. You will receive new identification cards prior to July 1. If you wish to make a change, you need to complete an enrollment form and return it to Human Resources by June 15, 2012.
