A network and telephone outage is required to prepare the campus for the opening of Science Hall. ITS  is proposing that these changes take place on Sunday, May 20 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. so that they can upgrade the campus core network equipment. During this time, all networked equipment, except the Apogee Residential Network, and the Rolm Telephone System will be down. This includes the Internet, Angel, Food Service Cash Register, Cisco telephones and voicemail, email, time clocks, and security cameras. If you know of any events that requires these systems during this time, please contact Frank Kirstein at Ext. 8361 or kirstein@canisius.edu on or before April 27.

Additional Outage Details

  • Rolm phone outbound calls will not be affected. Inbound calls will be limited. The switchboard will be unavailable.
  • Email will not be lost if the sender’s email system follows industry standards and automatically resends messages.
  • Non-IP Security cameras will continue to record, however they will not transmit information to Public Safety.
  • Access control doors should function normally.
