Father Tunney Appointed Director Of Mission & Identity

Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs Richard A. Wall, PhD, appointed Rev. Michael F. Tunney, S.J., to the newly-created position of director of mission and identity. Father Tunney is rector of the Jesuit community at Canisius College, a professor of fine arts and founding director of studio art at the college. He will leave his academic positions to serve in his new role, which begins August 1. “I am confident that Father Tunney’s 17 years as a faculty member, 24 years of ordained and sacramental ministry and 35 years as a Jesuit will enable him to shape this new position and its function of promoting the spiritual formation of the campus community,” says Wall. “He has already formulated a thoughtful vision for the position, and I look forward to the new ways in which Canisius will further its Ignatian traditions, especially in its educational mission, under his leadership.” To read more, click here.

Employee Parking Permits For 2011-2012 Now Available

It’s time for Canisius employees to register for parking tags for 2011-2012.  Current tags expire August 15, 2011.  Simply register online for a parking permit here and follow the prompts.

To purchase a permit, employees will need:

  • A Canisius username and password
  • Those not paying via payroll deduction can use a credit card or checking/savings account information for payment
  • Vehicle description (year, make, model, color)
  • Vehicle license plate number

Payment is accepted via payroll deduction, credit, or webcheck.  Tags will be sent upon registration and paid via interoffice mail.  To pay with cash, register online but go to a Student Accounts window in the Health Science Building, 2nd floor to pay for and pick up the tag.
