Library Open 24 Hours Four Days Per Week

The Andrew L. Bouwhuis Library will be open 24 hours from December 6-9 and 13-16.  This Friday (December 10), the library will close at 10 p.m. and next Friday (December 17), it will close at 5 p.m.  To view the library hours in detail, click here.

Based on a 2007 library survey and continued suggestions from students to remain open longer, the library extended hours to 2 a.m. throughout the academic year.  Repeated requests for extended library hours, especially during the week prior to and during finals, led to the decision to remain open for 24 hours several days a week during these final weeks of the semester.

Tim Hortons also will have extended service during these hours with a limited menu during this period.  The Department of Public Safety will provide on-call escort service for students returning to the dorms or their cars until shuttle services resumes in the morning.  The library will be staffed during extended hours by at least one reference librarian, circulation supervisor, and a public safety officer.
