Chae Young Kim, PhD, from Sogang University (the Jesuit university in Seoul, Korea) will present a lectire titled “Korean Religions and Christianity” on Monday, January 25 at 4 p.m. in Churchill Tower Room 203.

The talk will focus on Korean Christianity’s development against the background of traditional religions such as Shamanism, Buddhism and Confucianism.

Kim attained his PhD at the University of Ottawa, and has degrees from Seoul National Universities in Korea and the University of Madras in India. Since 2003, he has been professor in the Department of Religious Studies at Sogang University. Kim has published in the areas of Christianity in Asia, American philosophy of religion, and the philosophy and theology of Bernard Lonergan, S.J. Kim comes to Canisius courtesy of the Institute for the Global Study of Religions.
