All Invited to Farewell Reception

Please join us in the Grupp Fireside Lounge on Friday, June 27 at 2:30 p.m. to celebrate the retirements of Curt Gaume and Esther Northman, as well as to wish Dave Ewing well in his new position at Bethany College in West Virginia.

Darien Lake Family Night

There is still time to purchase tickets to join alumni, family and friends for Alumni Family Day at Darien Lake on July 17. Cost per person is $20 which includes admission to all parks, parking, two hour beverage service and one hour food buffet. Campus Ministry invites you to a lecture on Immigration Reform by Sr. Simone Campbell, SS

Sister Simone Campbell will speak on immigration reform in Canisius College’s Christ the King Chapel on Tuesday, July 1 at 7 p.m.

Sister Simone Campbell has served as Executive Director of NETWORK since 2004. She is a religious leader, attorney and poet with extensive experience in public policy and advocacy for systemic change. In Washington, she lobbies on issues of peace-building, immigration reform, healthcare and economic justice. Around the country, Campbell is a noted speaker and educator on these public policy issues. In 2012, she was also instrumental in organizing the “Nuns on the Bus” tour of nine states to oppose the “Ryan Budget” approved by the House of Representatives. This budget have would decimated programs meant to help people in need. “Nuns on the Bus” received an avalanche of attention across the nation from religious communities, elected officials and the media. She recently led a new cross-country Nuns on the Bus trip (May 28 through June 18, 2013), focused on comprehensive immigration reform. Campbell has often been featured in the national and international media, including recent appearances on 60 Minutes, The Colbert Report, and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
