All Invited to Retirement Reception

The campus community is invited to attend a reception honoring the retirement of Antone (Joe) Alber, PhD, dean, Wehle School of Business; Ellen Conley, PhD, vice president for student affairs; and Jerome Neuner, PhD, associate vice president for academic affairs.

Please stop by on Wednesday, June 12 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the Student Center Regis Room to wish them well, and to thank them for their leadership, service and commitment to Canisius. Please note the presentation portion of the event will begin at 1:15 p.m. in the Regis Room.

Faculty/Staff and their families invited to serve the homeless with Campus Ministry

Faculty and staff and members of their families are invited to join Campus Ministry and The Burrito Project on Tuesday, June 25 and Tuesday, July 23.

The Buffalo Burrito Project provides fresh home-made burritos to the poor and homeless population in downtown Buffalo. The project is a ministry to some of the most vulnerable and forgotten of our society.

Burritos will be prepared in our kitchen from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

The group will walk a four-mile route and will serve about 80 burritos, snacks and a drink. (Our campus ministry van follows the Street Team as we walk) from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. (You may join us for the prep session and or the walking piece of our work-most do both.)

50th Anniversary of the Traité de l’Élisée in 1963

The National German Honor Society at Canisius College is proud to present a traveling exhibition at Canisius’ Science Hall Commons, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Traité de l’Élisée in 1963, or 50 years of Franco-German friendship.

The exhibition will run from Tuesday, June 11 until the Friday, June 21 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., daily. For further information on the Elysée Treaty please reference:

Honeywell Continues Support of WNY Chemistry Olympiad Program

Honeywell presents the check for $10,000 to Canisius College. Canisius College is the recipient of a $10,000 grant from Honeywell’s Buffalo Research Laboratory. The funds will be used to offset costs associated with students’ preparation and participation in the Western New York Chapter of the International Chemistry Olympiad. Honeywell’s Buffalo lab has supported the Chemistry Olympiad for more than 20 years and has been its principal supporter at Canisius College since 2002

It is sponsored in the U.S. by the American Chemical Society and hosted locally by Canisius College under the direction of Mariusz Kozik, PhD, chair of the Chemistry and Biochemistry Departments.
