The Canisius College Board of Regents hosted its 52nd Regents Scholarship Ball on Saturday, May 5 at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo.  Nearly 500 guests attended the annual gala to support the Board of Regents Scholarship Fund.

The Regents Ball began as a friend-raiser in 1996, hosted by the Board of Regents.  Today, the gala raises scholarship support for promising students who might not otherwise be able to take advantage of a Canisius education.

The Board of Regents also confers its Distinguished Citizen Award at the onset of the evening.  The 2018 award recipient is Candace S. Johnson, PhD, president and CEO of Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.  The board recognized Dr. Johnson for her outstanding contributions to the health and well-being of the Western New York community.
