Professor of Teacher Education M. Fernanda Astiz, PhD, authored a new book that examines globalization related to the imperatives of education policy and implementation. The Global and the Local: Diverse Perspectives in Comparative Education looks at how the understanding of the global and the local has changed in response to the ongoing reconfiguration between the state and society. The book also “underscores the richness of contextual factors that may create opportunities for innovation – or may serve as constraints – in the implementation process,” explains Astiz.
Published by Sense Publishers, The Global and the Local is co-authored by Motoko Akiba, PhD, from Florida State University.
