Ryan_NU2652Two important games in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference race means a busy weekend for the men’s basketball team. The Griffs host Fairfield at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18 before entertaining Marist at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20.

Thursday night’s contest is hosted by both Wendy’s and Stop DWI with fans receiving complimentary burgers and Frosty’s at halftime on a first-come, first-served basis. The late tip-off is slated to accommodate the MAAC TV package, which is distributed through ESPN3. Darren Fenn ’01, who was unable to attend his Hall of Fame ceremony in 2013, will be in attendance to be recognized for his accomplishments as a Griff.

Saturday’s game, presented by The Buffalo News, will culminate a busy day for the new members of the Canisius Sports Hall of Fame. A lunch at 12:30 p.m. in Montante will tip-off their afternoon with induction ceremonies taking place at halftime of the game versus the Red Foxes. New inductees are Matt Vinc ’05 (lacrosse), Ryan Stewart ’97 (hockey), Genevieve Garcia Dispenza ’02 (softball), Jon Udwadia ’93, PhD (tennis) and Brian Cavanaugh (hockey coach). Dennis Misko ’67 will be presented with the Rev. Paul J. Dugan Award.
