On Saturday, March 12, the Canisius College Counseling and Human Services Department will present “The Journey Through the Asylum/Refugee Process” as part of the Golden Griffin’s Counseling Seminar Series. The seminar will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. in Grupp Fireside Lounge. The cost to attend is $25-$55. Lunch is included.

Jericho Road and Vive La Casa have joined together to continue the work of providing assistance to individuals seeking asylum in the United States and Canada, as well as following those refugees who come to the Buffalo, NY area.

The many needs of these individuals are pronounced because of the trauma that most have lived through in their homelands.  These individuals need the support and guidance from the community as they are enter a new culture.  It is with this perspective that our four presenters will approach the various conditions and needs of the “new” population coming to Buffalo, NY.

The registration form can be found outside Churchill Tower 802 or if paying by credit card please click here. If you have questions, please contact Rosemary Evans at Ext. 3298 or evansr@canisius.edu.
