The Department of Public Safety announces the purchase of a brand new shuttle. Shuttle driver Fred Sarden (pictured above, in front of the new vehicle) will take the first passengers across the campus today (August 30). The new van will continuously travel throughout each day between the Delavan Townhouses and the Richard E. Winter ’42 Student Center. It will also be used for special purposes on campus as needed.

“I am proud of our excellent vehicles provided to us by the college for the shuttle service,” said Gary M. Everett, director of public safety, “and we appreciate the hard work of the shuttle drivers. They transport more than 25,000 riders around the campus area each year.”

The new 2010 Chevy Express van was custom fitted with special seating for the college’s needs. It replaces a gently used van that has been given to the Office of Campus Ministry which will replace an older vehicle that was in use.
